- Why do you want to meet with independent producers?
Canadian broadcasters and specialty channels have been mandated
by the CRTC to make TV accessible to the blind. I can explain the
reasons and educate independents as to the benefits.

I would like to work with corporate Canada to establish a production
fund for description. Broadcasters are able to cover costs by selling
commercial sponsorship, like they do with closed captioning. Most
production funds, led by Shaw's SCPI fund, have audio description
as a category.

- AudioVision Canada is a division of the National Broadcast Reading
Service. VoicePrint, the TV channel that reads newspapers out loud
for the benefit of the blind and print restricted, is a sister organization
and the charitable arm of NBRS, which is a non-profit organization
