PURCHASING FACTORS

• An Internet / interactive component is somewhat important to the programming purchase
  • Clearly, by the time a program gets into the international marketplace an interactive component may be out of date or simply not available. In other cases foreign broadcasters will not allow website identification on their channel. However, for our domestic and US consumption these are often very good components. This can also be a great way to attract sponsorship to the program. In any event, we would always discuss these initiatives in the development stages with the producer.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• Projects do not have to be finished for the company to become involved
  • I like to review all ideas early on, whether they are a simple paragraph or complete treatments. It is important that we get an idea of its 'international-ness'. We can then make suggestions which will might give the program greater visibility in the marketplace.
• Develops original programming with independent producers
  • We are always looking for producers who can turn a good idea into a finished program. Our partnership in the early stages of development can often ensure foreign sales.
• Does not coproduce programming with independent producers
  • We do not produce, therefore we can maintain our independent distribution status on behalf of all of our production partners. However, we can certainly match up like-minded producers across the country.
