The fifth annual Great American PitchFest will be held June 21 & 22, 2008 at the Burbank Marriott Hotel & Convention Center in Los Angeles. Once again, the Storylink All-Stars will be leading free screenwriting classes, led by legends such as:

  • Pilar Alessandra (On the Page)
  • Michael Hauge (Writing Screenplays That Sell, Selling Your Story in 60 Seconds)
  • Blake Snyder (Save The Cat, Save the Cat Goes To The Movies)
  • Monika Skerbelis & Rona Edwards (former studio & production co. execs, Authors, "I Liked It, Didn't Love It: Screenplay Development from the Inside Out")
  • Viki King (How to Write A Movie in 21 Days)
  • Tim Crescenti (Fox, Small World International Format TV)
  • Ellen Sandler (Emmy Nominee & Co-Exec Producer, "Everybody Loves Raymond")
  • Dr. Linda Seger (Making Good Scripts Great)
  • Kathie Fong Yoneda (Former Disney Exec & Author, The Script Selling Game)

Plus more than a dozen other giants of screenwriting, including produced screenwriters, directors, and producers. All of these free classes will be held on the Saturday, followed by the Great American PitchFest on Sunday.

As always, Great American PitchFest founder and CEO Signe Olynyk promises dozens of pitch meetings for all attendees of Sunday’s PitchFest. "We will have approximately 100 companies hearing pitches, for only 500 lucky participants. With that 5:1 ratio, participants are guaranteed the greatest opportunity to meet with the greatest number of executives."

Last year’s Great American PitchFest sold out, leaving many screenwriters who waited until the last minute disappointed. "We hated to turn anyone away," according to Great American PitchFest Executive Director Bob Schultz, "but in order to give the best experience to all of our participants, we felt that selling fewer tickets was the only realistic solution." Another sell-out is expected this year, so participants are encouraged to buy early.

"The Great American PitchFest, Storylink, and the Writer’s Store share the same mandate - to support and create a community for screenwriters. The introduction of Pitch Perfect is yet another opportunity for writers to get their material out there."
